Doll Tree House

Here are some photos of the "Tree House" dollhouse, inspired by the website "MyFroggyStuff". It was a massive project, and we worked on it over the course of several weeks, beginning after losing one of our beloved kitties to a sudden illness. It kept our minds off the loss, and I think the results are pretty good. The main drawback is that the thing is MASSIVE. I mean HUGE. So it's hard to just tuck out of the way when you're not using it! But it looks so nice...







How did we do it?

First, you need cardboard. Plenty of cardboard. And LOTS of hot glue sticks. And you build the first floor:


Okay, looks okay; let's add a second floor, and a balcony, too:


Add some trim (reinforcement, too) to the interior...


Some exterior details to make everything decidedly more "tree-like":


Now, the messy part: spending several hours applying papier mache!






...And then, some (Well, LOTS OF, actually!) painting! Finally!

Wow! It's amazing! Looks like the real tree house.
I'm thinking about making such house for a Sylvanian family.
